During my mother-in-law’s last weekend here, we went and toured the Historical District of downtown Honolulu. Absolutely gorgeous; would make any architect drool.

We went to the Honolulu zoo in August. I have mixed feelings about trips to the zoo. On one hand I’m like “Ahh! Yay! Animals! Let’s go see them because they’re awesome,” and on the other hand, I get there, and I’m sad, “Awww, poor animals. They should be free to run around and be awesome.” Like the last two photos? That makes my heart hurt. Ugh.

But—- can we talk about how turtles are the cutest things ever?

There are still so many pictures from this summer that I’ve yet to get off of my camera! Here are some shots from our trip to Aulani to have breakfast with Mickey & the gang, on Sophia’s birthday. (:

random picture is random, i know. and it’s grainy. but about two weeks ago the moon was sitting all pretty over our palm tree. so, yeah.

My sister-in-law’s last day with us in Hawaii. I took her to have lunch with Philip on base, and then we got to go lay on the beach for hours, kid-free. It’s hard to work on a tan when you’re building sand castles or yelling “that’s far enough!” every five minutes when the tots head into the water. There’s something peaceful about just laying on the beach in the sun. And this is one helluva beautiful beach.

Lunch at Chinaman’s hat. (Kualoa Beach Park). We picked up Mickey D’s with the sister-in-law and spent the afternoon there. Beautiful!
